New Jersey > Pennsylvania > W. Virginia > Buckeye Lake, Ohio

ef: Today we left the Flath Family Farm (AKA F^3) and began the trip in earnest. We got an early start and headed out across the ridiculously long state of Pennsylvania, stopping halfway at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in New Stanton, PA. We made it to Buckeye Lake by 5:30pm. Here we’re staying with a family friend Russ Smith (Sam). Sam has a great piece of property with way more than adequate accommodations -- 2 separate buildings with 4 kitchens and only god knows how many bedrooms. Tim and I have our own wing, with kitchen, bath and a lovely bedroom. We can also admire Sam’s hunting trophies (including mounted leopard, lion, grizzly, hyena and much more).Too bad we’re only staying here one night.
Sam’s son Russ Jr. came over tonight and we cooked out on the grill and then played some table tennis and pool. Tomorrow we will attempt to navigate the entire state of Ohio and make it to Chicago.
